March 30 - Day 30 Day of Rest

Today we began a four day rest from riding the bikes.  I couldn't tell you about this break earlier because Kevin was surprising his family by showing up to their son's graduation from Marine basic training.  Kevin flew out of New Orleans this morning at 7:00 am heading to San Diego for the graduation.  A few hours later my family arrived in New Orleans to spend the next several days here.  So, now you're in on the big secret.  Congratulations Jordan on becoming one of America's newest Marines, and thank you for your service!

We saw this mural painted on a building in Phoenix as we were passing through, seems appropriate for this occasion.

We realized a few weeks ago that we were ahead of schedule and that we would have the ability to work in this time to spend with our families.  And, it will be a great rest for our legs as well.

I will keep submitting daily posts during the break and we will both be back on the bikes on Sunday morning.

Semper Fi!
Jason,
Kim and I are biking south Saturday in Mississippi on the Nathez Parkway. We had a thought of meeting you at the southern end of our trip, but you're too far east now. We'll be in Natchez the 15th.
See you back in FW.
